Anything you can do, they do Meta

As you prepare for your weekend, you may be wondering how to balance the imperatives of critics. David Denby’s review of Crash (opening today) made me want to go see it as soon as possible. By contrast, Tony Scott’s review in the NYT gave pause. What should one do? The Bayesian consumer of culture should consult Metacritic, which aggregates reviews from respected places on books, movies, DVDs, etc. This is definitely worth a bookmark. Oh, and as to Crash, the reviews are generally quite positive, so I’ll put it on the “to see” list, but not sure it should be a rush…
