As long as I’m on the subject of education, let me offer a quick link to two interesting things I came across today. The Conglomerate is running a forum on what it calls ScamLaw; an unfortunate title, in my view, but there have been some interesting observations and it will continue through tomorrow.
Second, readers might enjoy the current issue of the Oxford American, the “Education Issue.” In particular, try this piece about college by Mark Edmundson. It’s along the lines of things he’s written before, and I’m not always enamored of his work. It may not be quite so applicable to law school and other forms of professional education, although I think it has some application there too. I would imagine some readers will find it impractical. But I think it’s also substantially true.
