Citation Convention in Supreme Court Briefs

I’ve started drafting an amicus brief that I intend to submit in the birthright citizenship case. This is my first Supreme Court filing long enough to require a Table of Authorities.

In looking at other amicus briefs, I was surprised to see that cases are typically listed before the relevant constitutional provisions. That seems backward, but does reflect a certain attitude that might prevail at the Court or among Court practitioners that the cases are actually more important than the text.
